We are looking for a Director of Technical Operations to be responsible for the overall management of Ebates.com website environment, computing systems, network operations, business applications and office automation.

Responsibilities:

  • The 24x7 uptime, performance, scalability and security of the Ebates.com website, as well as the technical support of the office employees.
  • Office automation: desktops, laptops, security, domain controllers, exchange email servers, networking, shared file systems, plus VPN.
  • Management of technical staff responsible for systems planning, storage architecture, networking planning and network policy management, systems maintenance and upgrades, assets procurement and retirement, security, performance and capacity planning, backup/restore facilities, load management, and virtualized services.
  • Administration: overseeing technical staff, IT project management, capital budgeting, vendor contract negotiations (telecommunication, cage/hosting, etc.).
  • Creation, implementation, enforcement and audit of IT processes, procedures, and methodologies patterned after industry best practices.
  • Development of plans for business continuity, disaster recovery, contract services, and outsourcing arrangements, as appropriate.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and counseling in both technical and non-technical areas to technical team.
  • Identify strategic and operating opportunities to reduce network costs, attain or reduce budget levels, increase service levels, network reliability and network operating efficiency.
  • Develop and present weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual network operation service reviews to provide executive management with metrics that reflect operations costs, efficiency, availability and reliability.
  • Develop and present reports on all network outages documenting outage impact, duration, root cause, mitigation and preventative measures.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the IT industry including 4+ years managing internal staff and consultants.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment, effectively manage a team and use limited, available resources to overcome obstacles, meet deadlines within budget and accomplish corporate goals.
  • Relevant work experience supporting mission-critical servers in a Co-Lo environment.
  • Broad technical background.
  • Experience supporting VM-Ware installations and migrations.
  • Systems administrator level experience with operating systems, networking technologies and infrastructure management practices.
  • Strong project management experience managing medium to large sized projects. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Microsoft Analytics Services a big plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to various audiences.
  • B.S. in Management of Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
